Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

A surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms to improve contour—often after weight change or ageing-related laxity.

After consultation and photographs, we plan technique based on laxity: mini (limited scar in the armpit) for mild cases or standard/extended brachioplasty with a scar along the inner arm (sometimes into the axilla/chest fold) for moderate–severe laxity. Conservative liposuction may be combined for shaping. Performed in an accredited theatre with detailed consent, itemised costs and structured aftercare.

Consultant-led planning, discreet scar strategy

We assess skin quality, fat distribution, lymphatics and previous scars to design a proportion-first plan. Scar placement prioritises concealment and nerve/lymph safety. We explain risks, recovery timelines and garment use, and stage procedures when that is safer or more predictable.

Clinical clarity from consult to aftercare

You receive an evidence-based plan, transparent quotation and care in accredited facilities. We plan scars carefully, use meticulous haemostasis and gentle liposuction when appropriate, provide written aftercare and scheduled reviews, and advise alternatives—or “not today”—if surgery isn’t right.

General questions

Best for stable weight, non-smokers (or able to stop), with bothersome upper-arm laxity that doesn’t respond to lifestyle measures. A consultation confirms medical suitability and goals.
Mini lifts place a short scar in the armpit. Standard/extended lifts place a line along the inner arm (and sometimes into the axilla/chest fold) designed for discretion. We provide a scar-care plan once healed.
Often yes, in a conservative way to refine contour and reduce bulk before skin tailoring. Suitability is confirmed on examination.
Bruising and swelling are common for 1–2 weeks. Compression sleeves are worn ~4–6 weeks. Many return to desk work in 7–10 days; avoid heavy lifting and strenuous upper-body exercise for ~4–6 weeks or as advised.
Bleeding, infection, scars (widening/hypertrophy), wound-healing delays (especially near the armpit), asymmetry, contour irregularity, numbness, fluid collection and need for revision. We discuss risks in consent and monitor closely.
